Toblerone - An Apology

I would like to apologise to Mr Tobler and his family for yesterday’s comments.

I did not wish to cause any offence and I would like to point out that Toblerone is delicious, especially melted with strawberrys dipped in.

I am a big admirer of Toblerone, not least because they invented their own shape: the tube crossed with a triangle. Sure, it may have a name, but it’s known the world over.

They’ve got builders in Lhasa going: “Hey Tsering, pass me that spirit level.”

“Which one - the one with the grip and the magnets?”

“No, that one there. The one shaped like a Toblerone.”

“Got it.”

Seriously, what’s that shape called? It’s Toblerone shaped. Tobleroid possibly, but you see that shape and you think of Toblerone, and you have to respect that.

Plus they have a unique serving method.

Is it a triangular prism, Mr Jones?

    Actually, I much prefer tobleroid.

It could be, but that doesn’t necessarily describe the length. It’s like using the word cube to describe a block shape.

I saw this knock-off of Toblerone’s shape. It looks like it could be infringing the proprietary shape.

Hi there, was just wondering, is ‘Toblerone’ classified as a shape? or is it just a name? I would be glad if you could resolve this debate.
