I have to agree that her Chocolate christmas cake was utterly divine. I have, however, managed to throw the recipe away!!! Just after I have given in and agreed to make it again for the eldest's birthday next week!!!
Can anyone help me out and send me the recipe please? I used the one published in the Sunday Mail last November, but some kind soul sent it for recycling.....

I have it on tenuous authority (someone told me this at the hairdressers) that Ms Kidman is "botoxed to her eyeballs".

Her recipes are often of the 'sling it in' variety - the ones on the tv at least, so I dare say there's always room for error. 'I give it a slosh of this...'

She's good at the fluttery eyelashes and the pouty licky stuff but it didn't work in her chat show! She really couldn't do anything other than try to flirt (badly) with the guests and it was cringe-making!

I think she's rather lovely to look at - but she's as annoying as she is endearing! Especially with the perfect kitchen and perfect children and perfect guests around her perfect dinner table! Did you see how many Christmas lights were put along her kitchen cupboards?? (who decorates their cupboards with lights when that would mean you can't open them?)
She should have a dinner-lady-esque hairnet on her head Cliff! Anddd why on earth the half-cardigans apart from to show her bosoms off?!

All the recipes of hers (mostly cakes) that I've tried have worked wonderfully. Sometimes a tad too much mixture, but that's hardly the end of the world.

I've also heard people say that her recipes don't work, though, and assumed that it must have been an error in the conversion of the measurements into American (cups) or something like that... since they've always worked for me.

..and be the daughter of a cabinet minister and wife of Charles Saatchi. (That's not a typo.) I don't know if she's crossed the Himalayas dragging a canoe and carrying a wounded Sherpa, yet.

Ah - no - her Christmas cakes do work. I would never take that away from her. (But I still cross-referenced the cooking times with Delia before I tried it.)

I have to say that the whole concept of introducing chocolate and coffee to a Christmas cake makes me feel a bit weird though. Blasphemy!

Sorry to be the voice of dissent but I just made Nigella's chocolate Christmas cake and my loved one said it was the best one I'd ever made (ok you could say he would say that wouldn't he), as long as you can get your head round ingredients like cocoa powder, prunes and coffee liqueur. It doesn't taste of any of those things - just a squidgy, moist and luscious whole.

Oh, she is definitely getting a bit stretched in the forehead area. And her cooking times are crazy. I say: read her for ideas, but if she says she's making shortbread you'd better cross-reference her technique with Delia Smith if you want to have shortbread at the end of it.

What I don't understand is why people who've had facelifts end up looking as if all of their features are squashed together in the middle of their faces (cf. Nicole Kidman). I mean, logically, you'd think the stretching would make them look further away from each other.
