I Can’t Handle It

I don’t like touching brushed metal.

Zippo lighters and the like make me feel like my nails are all scratchy. Like most aversions, it makes no sense. I don’t pride myself on perfect nails or anything. I’ve never had a manicure, I rarely file and my cuticles are nothing to write home about.

But brushed metal, be it lighters, car dashboard detail or the tops of those half-plastic Parker Pens make me uneasy.

How about you? Wool on your teeth? Things that feel lighter than they look? Ill-conceived blog posts?

Song of the weekend here tomorrow as normal. Have a good one.

Oh, and by the fucking way?

Remember this from March 2005? Always thinking.

Well, they’re working on it. Thanks for reading, guys.

You know what would be really cool? A million pounds.

Do annoying sounds count? Wiper blades when it’s only just rainy enough to require wipers.

Oh, oh. This is a texture AND sound one. There’s a certain kind of green beans (fine beans?) that make a squeaky noise on your teeth. HORRIBLE. Made worse by the fact that they taste quite good.

  2. Cliff Says:

Green beans! Definitely. I have a thing about barely wet custard that runs like a liquid but feels dry. Thanks Wendy.

And skin on custard, rice pudding or hot chocolate.
    Unattractive.
    Not you, umm.. anyway.

I really really don’t like it when people sound like they’re crying when they laugh. I’m all worried that someone is upset and then when I find out they’re just having a good giggle I wanna punch ‘em (for getting me worried and having such an annoying laugh).

    I’d take half a million.

Halloumi cheese is squeaky on the teeth but I sort of like that.

I abhor the sound of silverware on teeth. Just thinking about it sends armies of shiver-men up my spine.

As for the manicure, you should consider one. In case you don’t remember, you even left a comment on my blog entry about my first experience with the manicure:

I wonder… In England, do the Asians have a monopoly on nail salons like they do here in the States?

Remembered another one today. When you’re eating an ice lolly, and you accidentally bite the wooden stick. It’s like nails on a blackboard.
