It's OK, Katy. Your written word makes up for your lack of patience with the spoken word.

I did listen to it for a bit. I'm just not very good at disembodied voices.

I liked the 'where religion starts' line too. I'm with Katy , usually spoken wor daudioo does nothing for me and is hard for me to get though, but I make the effort here because I know the words are worth ther effort.

I am not big on the audio posts, because I can't listen to spoken word, full stop. If I can't read it, or see the face of the person who's saying it, I can't concentrate on it. I am not big on phone conversations or radio talk shows for the same reason, although obviously I don't have a problem with music. It is nothing to do with the quality of your audio posts, which I would think are as superb as your other posts.

In short - it's not you, Cliff, it's me.

Thanks Wendy - glad you like it. Here's how it goes. The first one, the one about Bob Mould, was completely off the top of my head. This one, I made notes People's names, so I don't forget them halfway through, and a couple of sentences. For this one, those were:

We were young and we feared the loss of nothing.
The place where terror and joy meet, and where religion often starts.
Clatter of teeth and zippers.
Feet down, doors to manual, awesome airlines

Then I wrote about half a dozen pegs: WEST Chester not east, Funk Brothers, Honda 250, Halloween, Scott and Chad Zimmerman, jump, pussy, layer.

All in all it's about half a side of A5, which is much faster than writing. I don't do any editing or clean it up or do loads of takes or anything, which is obvious because I say "um" far too much.

Ed - thanks mate, as always. You comments are always appreciated more than they are deserved, but I'll take them.

"Thankyou for flying Awesome Airlines". I dread to think the other contexts in which you've said that.

Nice though - do you write your audio posts down first, or is it all free-form?
