Weekend Song – Foo Fighters
September 29, 2007
Every so often I feel a song that make me hear all kinds of things.
This is onesuch – listen all the way through and you’ll get a whole set of emotions wanting to stay with you.
We knew they could do it all; funny, melodic, hard, brave, defiant, in a variety of styles. Just another day at the office for the Foos.
But when the new album came out – sorry: dropped – this week, this song stunned me damned cold.
Wish I were with you, I couldn’t stay.
Every direction leads me away.
Pray for tomorrow, but for today
all I want is to be home.

You don’t hear a song, you feel it. Nice.
I think I just heard that one,. though.
Snap.
Took this album on holiday with me last week and rarely listened to anything else. I think the mess of the last (double) album focussed them as this is there best stuff by far.
And that song.
*shivers*
He’s come a long way that Grohl bloke..
Thanks Ed – I’m with Gordon on this one. It’s a great album. Not so sure about all the acoustic moments, but then I like the second part of the last one actually better than the first.
Leave a comment. Play nice. I will turn this blog around.
