It occurred to me not too long ago that I started blogging because I like it, not because I wanted to cater to others, and if I start thinking of it as a Commitment I'm sort of defying the point of having started in the first place, which was to do something I enjoyed as a hobby. So, you know, sometimes I'll be gone for several weeks and sometimes I'm around quite a lot. It all depends what mood I'm in and I'm quite comfortable with that. What I mean is, for all I whinge about you not being around, there's actually no obligation on you to be around at all. If you have the capacity to post then do it. If you don't then don't. But don't feel as if you have to post because you're letting your audience down if you don't. The beauty of Google Reader is that you can go into hibernation for as long as you want and I'll still know that you've posted within five minutes of you clicking on Publish.
