Before Normal Service Resumes
December 26, 2008
I’m going to think some things through. As we move towards a new year, I’m thinking a few things through.
I am better, thanks for asking. I spent the early part of my birthday this week at the doctors for the second time and realise that having asthma isn’t something you can beat. Sometimes you can control it, sometimes you just try and live with it the best you can. But running twelve miles a week doesn’t get rid of it, I now realise. I’m on a cocktail of medication and I’ll share a few things when there is time and there is going to be because I have some coming up and then some ideas what I’m going to do with it.
We’re going to keep the podcast going, as well. Thanks to the listener who sent the mail on Christmas Day and the insults to me in particular. I’d love to hear your work sometime.

That email was very tongue-in-cheek, I guess you didn’t scroll down and see the wink. No actual offense intended. G’day
Happy Christmas Cliff. Don’t let anyone get you down, about the podcasts, or writing, or anything. Hope you’re feeling better. You’re one of those rare people who brighten the day just by being around.
I guess I was being sensitive performer monkey man when I wrote that. It’s hard to tell when people are ribbing you, given the amount of people who get in touch to be genuinely nasty. I can see the wink from the mail but it was way down the page after a lot of line breaks and I didn’t scroll to see it. Thanks for the explanation.
Cheers jssolo – nice of you to say. Hope you enjoyed your break.
Get a monkey!
P.S. Any pictures of the pug in a santa hat? I think that would make this the best Christmas ever.
You heard him! PUT THAT PUG IN A SANTA HAT PRONTO.
Hi Cliff,
Sorry to read that you’ve been so ill in the past 2 weeks or so.
Hope you’re feeling better, and that you have a fantastic 2009.
Daughter was diagnosed an asthmatic ages ago. But then we moved to the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia where she continues to live. After the first year – absolutely no asthma symptoms ever. Perhaps change the climate you live and work in to a non-industrial, non-21st Century one?
I realise this may not be a practical suggestion but Daughter’s improved condition backed by the Junta de Andalucia’s own figures that asthma doesn’t exist in the mountains implies that quality of environment is a massive factor in beating the condition.
Listen to Katy.
In fairness, Cliff has been far too ill to wrestle with pugs and Santa hats.
Having said that, though, where’s my festive pug? WHERE IS IT?
He’s going to be dressed like the Easter Bunny at this rate…
… surely pug dressed as Cupid will come before that?
Our part of Iberia is just below 1000 feet but is non-industrial and Lisa does not need her huffer-puffer as much as in UK . How about pug dressed as Cliff , then at least we have something , or someone .
I’m not optimistic, Jonners…
Leave a comment. Play nice. I will turn this blog around.
