We’ll Do It Live

Coming up tonight we’re doing our first live podcast. Tune into http://tinyurl.com/angryandcliffvideo from 9pm and you’ll be able to watch what’s going on in the studio while we record the show.

We’ll still geared up for the audio podcast as a final product, so this is not going to be a slick production. You’re hear talking between the bits, although not to much, because we pretty much blast through. But we’re all set up.

We have the cameras, the extra mics, the extra laptop to run all this on, and if no one turns up it will be our last. In addition to video, we’ll have a live chat going, so you’ll be able to comment along with the show and we’ll have the twitter page open to check messages throughout the show.

We generally run from 9pm to 11pm, so if you want to hang out then go ahead. The proper show gets underway about 9:30, but before that we’ll be setting up and writing it, which you can all see. Actually, since I wrote this, we’ve done a bit more planning than normal, so we hope to kick off as close to 9pm as we can, although we may have the stream live just before, so you’ll know where to go before it starts.

I tried the live page out by pointing the camera at my dog and then sent a twitter out from the video page. Thanks to everyone who clicked the link and went in, because it worked well. BarnsleySime was having some problems with the browser, and if it doesn’t work tonight then please let us know.

I’m fairly sure it doesn’t work on iphones, so you may have to use a PC. I was watching the stream on IE8 on Vista and it worked OK and Angry was using a Mac and both were fine, but that’s the extent of user testing we do.

To be honest, I’m a little nervous. I try to be cool, but I’m not. If I were one of those cool guys in action films I would totally turn around to look at the explosion.

How is anyone that cool? I’d have to look.
