The Art Of The Trench – Burberry

November 11, 2009

Grandparents

Remembrance Day today. November 11. The Armistice. The day the First World War ended.

A war which killed millions and a war we remember.

My grandfather (pictured, 1918) and uncle fought in the First and Second World Wars.

Burberry founder Thomas Burberry first made trenchcoats for British army offices in 1914, and it remains one of the company’s top-selling garments.

We should bow our heads and remember those brave men today.

And also buy coats.

The Art Of The Trench - a new social media site launching this week from Burberry in a joint venture with Facebook.

Not cool.

Do me a favour and cut and past this post on your own site with the headline The Art Of The Trench – Burberry, or link to this and let’s dilute the marketing/social media for a week or so and let’s honor the dead the right way.
